MSM allows to observe and characterize surface states. It also measures
altitude variations of material surfaces and quantifies its topography
with tools commonly used in statistics and in signal or in image processing.
The
MSM can be used on any type of material : metals, alloys, polymers, composites,
ceramics, minerals, paper, wood, etc...
Surface
topography analysis, which allows prediction of suitability as to the
use of material and surface structure, thus favors :

of surface elaboration processes,

of material aptitude to adherence or adhesion,

reduction
of wear for parts in close contact ( vehicule distribution systems, tires
on road surfaces, plugging and unplugging in plugs and sockets...),

(vehicle cooling systems, stress corrosion,...).
